As we enter December, the winter weather has appropriately dropped in temperature, and there is definitely some festive feeling in the air. The time has come to rally round and gather Christmas presents, as well as the absolutely necessary special Christmas food and drink, and inevitably to start feeling a little bit stressed out.
However, it is important to remember to take time out for yourself, at all times, not just at this time of year – there is nothing wrong with treating yourself every once in a while. With the cold weather this time of year, the perfect way to do this would be to invest in a perfect cardigan. Nothing is better than feeling cosy and comfortable while running around completing Christmas errands, in something a little less stuffy than a jumper, but still adding an extra layer of warmth.
There are a huge range of cardigan styles available these days; everything from cropped, to waterfall, to boyfriend style, to zipped, to button down, so you are almost spoiled for choice in choosing your winter wear this year. Cardigans are also an extremely versatile piece of clothing. A fun Aztec or fairisle pattern cardigan is great for everyday wear in the lead up to Christmas, but a single cream, white, black, grey, or other neutral colour cardigan can be worn with a number of different outfits and a variety of different occasions.
At Victoria cheong, we can’t wait to snuggle up in our cosy knit cardigans, so we picked some of our favourites below.
Cream Long Wool Cardigan – Made in France
This cream coloured cardigan is perfect for all occasions. Wear it with jeans and boots for casual wear, over a contrasting dress for night out, or with black trousers and a blouse for the office. The high quality wool in this cardigan will ensure that you are warm whatever you might be doing, and the delicate chiffon trim at the hem adds a lovely extra feminine touch.
Fluffy Grey Cardigan Jacket – Made in France
This faux fur jacket-style cardigan might be a slight departure from your normal winter wear, but you can’t deny how cosy it looks. Add this to a monochromatic outfit for an instant tie-dye style update; perfect for a cosy day of Christmas shopping, or a meal out with friends. This jacket isn’t so much a transition piece, but it is the perfect festive flair for this time of year, and as it is thicker than a traditional cardigan, it will definitely keep you warm.
Denim Blue Jersey Cardigan – Made in France
This blue cardigan is not a traditional wool cardigan, but it is made from a slightly thinner, soft jersey material. This means that the long sleeves keep you warm, but you won’t overheat when you layer up different pieces or when you are darting in and out of shops. The longer length of the cardigan is a popular style choice at the moment, and the navy blue colour is very workable with a lot of colours without conforming
