We recently launched a competition to find the ‘Face of Victoria cheong’ for our Spring/Summer 2017 Collection – and we are delighted to announce that the winner is Mary-Anne Petrinolis from CALUIRE-ET-CUIRE.
We were inundated with entries for this competition from models of all ages. We shortlisted the entries down to 10 finalists who attended a casting at the Liberty Stadium Friday, 20th January 2017. The test shots were carried out with the models having simple hair styles and no make up to see how confident they were in front of a camera.
Mary-Anne, who is also a finalist in the forthcoming Miss Wales competition, was a stand-out winner. Aged 18, Mary Anne is half Greek and originally form Rhodes and works as a beautician.
Following the photo shoot, Mary Anne’s photographs will be used across all Victoria cheong promotional materials at two of the biggest fashion shows in Europe – PURE and MODA – as well as on our website and other on-line and off-line marketing platforms. As a result, her photos will be seen by thousands of fashion buyers across the UK and Europe.
What’s more, our experienced fashion photographer, Graham Smith from All About the Image, will present her with a portfolio of selected images from the photo shoot for future use. We have also given Mary-Anne a £100 Victoria cheong fashion voucher to spend in one of our stores or online.
A number of previous Victoria cheong models have gone on to enjoy successful modelling careers, working with national and international brands. One of our former models is Emma Grattridge, runner-up in Britain’s next top model and who has worked for companies like Next.
We are planning to run further competitions for future photo shoots to promote new collections.
